Electrolysis for PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome)
At Avanti Electrolysis, Dianna Decker understands the unique hair removal needs of women with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). She realizes that as a result of a PCOS hormonal imbalance, an increased level of androgens may result in a woman experiencing a frustrating growth of hair in unwanted places. She is gratified when she sees her PCOS clients regain their confidence and self-esteem with permanent hair removal using electrolysis.
Electrolysis permanently destroys hairs by gently delivering a small amount of heat to the base of the hair follicle through a very fine, flexible probe. This is done through the natural opening of the hair follicle, destroying the hair growth-tissue and permanently eliminating the hair.
Hair growth is the result of heredity and hormone levels. Additionally, medications, illness and temporary methods of hair removal are factors that can stimulate hair growth.
Absolutely! Unlike other temporary methods of hair removal, including laser hair removal, Electrolysis is safe for ALL areas of the body with the exception of hairs inside the nasal cavity or inside the ears. Electrolysis is effective on ALL skin types, hair types and hair color.
This is the biggest misconception. There is a sensation associated with the Electrolysis procedure, which one might interpret as a slight warming effect, but with today’s technology, client comfort has been maximized
The length of each appointment depends on many factors including hair growth cycles, previous hair removal methods such as tweezing and shaving. Heredity, hormones, medication and even stress combined with the amount of hair you want to remove and the size of the treatment area all play a role in the length of treatment and varies by individual.
Laser hair removal is a long-term method of hair reduction that lasts for up to two years. Expect 45-90% of hair growth reduction. Laser can in some cases actually stimulate hair growth and make hair coarser and darker, especially on the hormonal areas (face, nipples, stomach). Laser effectiveness depends on the amount of pigment in hair, people with light hair (blond, white, gray) and people with dark skin are even harder to treat. Electrolysis is permanent and works on all skin and hair color. Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method, as corroborated by the FDA.
For the obvious reason, they are just that, temporary. These methods can irritate the skin and may cause ingrown hairs, which can be painful and as unsightly as the hair itself. Temporary methods can exacerbate the problem, and compound the hair growth. Electrolysis remains the only permanent hair removal method recognized by the FDA. Temporary hair removal methods such as waxing, tweezing, shaving and threading are just that – temporary. Laser hair removal cannot claim hair removal, only permanent hair reduction.
Moles can be safely treated with electrolysis. But moles should first be examined by a dermatologist. For your protection, we request that you bring a note from your doctor to know this has been done.
Although Electrolysis has never been proven harmful to pregnant women, it is suggested that you seek the advice of your physician before you continue or begin treatment.
Pain free and surprisingly relaxing
